Immersing herself in research on medieval gardens and the history of Barts and the surrounding Smithfield area. Drawing on extensive archives, Arkette is looking at the restorative role of gardens that offer visual, as well auditory and olfactory respite from the urban environment.

Arkette is also exploring the botany that used to thrive in the area and the medicinal role of plants, including Lavender, Yarrow, Solomon’s Seal, Iris Florentina, and Love-in-a-Mist.
