Heart Agency donations 2013

Vital Arts was delighted to collaborate with Heart Agency to bring together a collection of illustrations for the Children’s Hospital at the Royal London. Working with Helen Osborne, Director of Heart’s London office, we solicited donations from many of the international artists represented by the illustrator’s agency, including Romy Blümel, Marc Boutavant, Jenny Bull, Jason Ford, Scott Garrett, Tom Gauld, Lara Harwood, Ben Kirchner, Michael Kirkham, Stuart Kolakovic, Shonagh Rae, Annabel Wright. Each generously offered a range of endearing and buoyant images replete with animals, plants and playful characters which transformed many of the windowless treatment and consulting rooms.
Before being permanently installed at in the Children’s Hospital several of these donated illustrations formed an exhibition for public display in our gallery space (ground floor, main corridor, the Royal London).
It is from this collaboration that we first encountered Tom Gauld, who we went on to commission a permanent installation for the Cystic Fibrosis Unit at Barts.
Heart Agency represents international illustrators who work on projects for children’s books, packaging, identity and branding campaigns, newspapers and magazines.
