Giclee prints on Diasec, vinyl
Lower Ground Floor (Nuclear Medicine)

Gaia Persico developed her commission over the course of six months, after gaining regular access to the roof of the new building at Barts. The resulting work is a panoramic view of the immediate area surrounding the hospital. The artist presents this scene along the corridor of the Nuclear Medicine Department in several discrete pieces that line up to make one long landscape. She has also created a highly detailed white vinyl drawing on the window of the waiting area.

Gaia Persico, who lives in London, was born in Italy and studied at Wimbledon School of Art.  She has exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad, including at the Royal Academy of Arts, Jerwood Space, PM Gallery, Gasworks, as well as in venues in Rome, New York, Tokyo, Istanbul, and Wrocław. The artist frequently uses cityscapes within her work. Formerly an air hostess, she has captured the unique fields of vision from hotel windows whilst travelling.
