The Royal London Hospital

Franziska Lantz is returning sounds to the abandoned units of the old Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. Equipped with drum sticks, a recorder and her voice she explores the labyrinthine network of dark corridors and hidden spaces within the deserted building that lies empty and has been boarded off to the outside world since spring 2012. In search of songs and rhythms, beats and meoldies Lantz drums the leftover interiors of the old hospital and sings with the somber ghosts of the past. On completion of this acoustic investigation the collected audio material will be made available to the public as a collection of songs.
